What is Green Eyed Records?
Green Eyed Records is a music platform that exists to assist artists with a core philosophy of music creation and promotion, through cooperation and sharing of resources. This means that artists, and music lovers, can have access to useful information, resources and advice, from like minds who all have a genuine love of music.
In the traditional “record company model” an artist will “sign to a label” which is essentially a business transaction. Often “the deal” is massively in favour of the record company who unsurprisingly expect to get a return on any investment of time and money put into promoting the artist. This can work for some artists, but many artists discover that they have to sacrifice creative control of their work and/or discover that it’s not the financial boost they originally might have expected.
Will Green Eyed Records Sign Me?
GER doesn’t “sign artists” in the traditional manner, but rather exists as a platform to assist with music discussion and promotion, where all artists maintain 100% control of their own creative output, and crucially, are also able to be connected to a larger network of like minds who value being “fiercely independent” as artists, and who also believe in genuine musical cooperation as the best way forward. This means that artists can receive many benefits associated with the traditional record company model, but crucially without sacrificing creative or financial control of their work.
With GER there are different options for artist involvement, from simply being an advocate of the GER philosophy to being actively involved in helping promote the aims of the platform. The central theme of “creativity through collaboration” can manifest in lots of different ways including sharing musical resources, sharing practical insights and information about music promotion, sharing info about creating the best recording process, as well as collaborations in making music.
